A Sweet Puppy in Need of a Home

The Sad Puppy

A sweet puppy sat in her cage at a small animal shelter. She looked so sad and alone. Everyone who she looked with her large, sad eyes could only feel sorry for her. This poor puppy sketched for love and nurturance Day in and day out she waited for someone to come take herhome. The High Plains Humane Society hoped to find her a home.

The Search for a New Family

She wagged her tail each time as she hoped it was the one. She tried to demonstrate the loving and affectionate side of her personality. All the while she just wanted to cuddle and play. So many visitors had passed her by, but she was longing for that special someone. Staff at the shelter tried their best to assist her. They walked her and played with her. But what they truly wanted to do, was show the world how amazing she was.

A Chance for Love

On a bright summer day, with her family in tow this time, one yet mystery-loving young lady found herself where the shelter just might be. She turned and noticed the unhappy puppy. The girl came closer to the grill and bent over. The tail of the puppy began to resemble a helicopter propeller in speed. The girl smiled and put her hand between the bars. The dog licked her hand and blissfully barked. That was all the girl needed to hear and she realized then that she wanted this puppy.

A Happy Ending

The girl’s parents saw the amazing creature that puppy was as well. They agreed to adopt her. The puppy danced with glee as the family filled out papers. That she was about to get her forever-loved home! The girl had a new best friend, and the sweet puppy her family. They walked out of the containment facility as a new little family, armed with memories and love.
