A Tale Of A Forgotten Dog

Max was a dog who lived in a tiny shelter somewhere down in Florida. Max is not some fancy breed that everyone cooos over (or even remotely cute to my mind compared so many other dogs). This meant that most of the time people where just walking by him. Max sat in his kennel for 785 days. Every day he waited for someone to see him and take him away. But he was ignored by many people only due to his look.

Max’s Days in the Shelter

Max had a tough time in the shelter. One by one he watched as the other dogs got adopted. With wagging tails and barking friendliness But all Max could do was sit and hope a buddy would appear. He had friends and loved ones, but he felt so alone. Although visitors got along with the other dogs, Max usually did not join them. He endured the ache in his heart month after month, but still he did not stop hoping.

A Change of Heart

And one day it happened, something wonderful. Some kind person visited the shelter. So this person saw Max just sat there quiet in his cage. They stopped to stare at him when other tried walking past. Their big, brown eyes and wagging tail spoke to them. Everywhere they looked, all they could see was the love he had to offer. That day, everything changed.

A New Home for Max

The kind person decided to adopt Max. They took him home and gave him a name—Buddy. Buddy finally had a family. He went from being overlooked in a cage to being loved in a home. Buddy played in the yard, chased after toys, and snuggled on the couch. His new life was full of joy and happiness.

Conclusion

Buddy, previously Max, shows us that no matter what they look like all dogs deserve love. Eventually, Buddy found a forever home. This is a good example of why we should not judge by what you see. All dogs have hearts and need love. Hey — let us give them a shot.
