The Dog’s Fear

There once was a dog named Max. Max was a small, brown dog. He lived in a shelter. Max was very scared of people. Every time someone came near his cage, he would hide. He would curl up in a ball and turn away. He never looked anyone in the eye. This made people think he was not friendly. But that was not true. Max was just afraid.

Life in the Shelter

For Max, life in the shelter was hard. Every single day, he would see all of the dogs around him get homes. They would leave with different families. Max wanted it as well, but was thwarted by fear. Nothing else… He just was afraid of people. He said there were only a few places he felt safe.

Max was taken by shelter workers who tried to save him. They would sit and whisper to him. Alluring Him With Snacks And Toys They would hug Max and hold him gently. Max wanted to trust them. Gradually, he felt a bit better.

Finding a Home

Sarah was a good-hearted woman who came to the shelter one day. Max saw her hiding in his cage She did not rush to him. Instead, she simply sat down on the floor and started speaking in a low tone. “There, there little one,” she said. Max looked at her slowly. His gazed locked with another’s for the very first time.

Sarah visited Max every day. And you brought him treats and toys. She always took her time. Max started to trust her. His tail would wag when he saw her;

Ultimately, Sarah has gone ahead and fostered Max. For him it was a big step, but he felt safe with her. Max took a deep breath when they walked out of the shelter together. Though still terrified, he didn’t feel quite so naked in the dark anymore. That was the first time he experienced with Sarah standing beside him his life may start anew.
