Soldier Falls in Love with Puppy in Iraq

A Special Friendship

During his time serving in Iraq, a soldier found a small puppy on the base. The puppy had no home, and he looked lost and scared. The soldier decided to take care of the little dog. He named him Max. They quickly became best friends. In the hot desert, Max brought joy and comfort. The soldier enjoyed playing with him and sharing his meals. Max would wag his tail and bark happily whenever the soldier came back from duty.

Their bond grew strong. The soldier was always busy, and Max trailed him wherever he went. He shared the soldier’s tent and slept even hugged him at night. The soldier loved Max a lot. That puppy made the bad days in Iraq a little less difficult to bear.

Saying Goodbye

A short time later, the soldier was off to Iraq. He wanted to go back home at his family. Max was a difficult thing to leave. The soldier assured that he would come back for the puppy. He spent so much time trying to get plans sorted for Max to come over here. He missed him so much.

A Joyful Reunion

A month after that the soldier was reunited with Max and got to take him home. He nearly leaped out of his skin to see him. As soon as the soldier opened the door, Max went crazy. He leaped, woofed and raced in circles. He clicked his tail with warp speed of a little propeller. The puppy could not see anything like that!

Max ran straight at him; the soldier dropped to his knees and Max jumped into his arms. The happiness at that time was ahhh-mazing. The propranolol turned up so high no one would dare say how happy Max was to see the soldier once more. The soldier laughed and embraced him.

A Happy Life Together

As they sit reunited, the soldier and Max share a bond that can never be broken. They love going for walks in the park and playing outside.
