A New Beginning for a Senior Dog
Finding Each Other
This morning was special. For instance, I adopted a 15 year old dog. Old dogs, no one adopts them any more but in him I saw love. He had been in a shelter for years, waiting for someone to bring him home. Today, that someone is me!
A Gentle Companion
And he looks at me, when we lay in bed. His smile is soft. He is a little gray around the muzzle now. I can tell he has a past of his own with the highs and lows. I want to know about his upbringing, and I hope it was filled with good memories. And now here he is with me, and I only want the best for him.
Adjusting to a New Home
Initially he was a tad afraid. It must be scary to go somewhere you do not recognize after staying in a home that is so strange. I made sure to comfort him. I whispered and fed him cookies. He slowly eased intoishop Fire was lessening, he began to drop into safety. Happy that he trusted me.
Simple Joys Together
We will savor every simple joy each day. We can even take slow walks in the park, bask in sunny days and snuggle on the couch. I could feel the deep for between us igniting. He brings me joy, and I want to bring the same for him.
A Forever Home
Getting an old dog is a kind one. I know we do not have much time together, but I will make the most of every minute. He deserve to be loved and cared for later in life. I love that I have my kind friend, and look forward to our free journey together. That, my friend is merely the beautiful start of us
