Discovery at the Fire Station

A sunny morning as firefighters get their day started at the fire station. The door of the station was right in front and there they saw a big black suitcase. It was an odd one, this suitcase. Firefighters — intrigued, they go look

As they opened that bag, to their horror it had a mother dog and her tiny puppies in there. The mother was afraid and the puppies hiding in a bunch to keep each other warm. Firefighters knew they had to act.

The Care of The Mother Dog and Her Puppies

Firefighters carefully removed the dogs, who appeared to be fine after their ordeal. The mother dog was sweet and seemed friendly, but she was also extremely nervous. Those puppies were so tiny and they needed tending right away. Firefighters quickly requested animal control assistance.

While the mother dog waited for a canine ambulance to arrive, firefighters fed her and gave her water. They made sure she felt safe. Similarly, the puppies wanted food and heat They started a fire but put it out to force the puppies inside before baricading them in with some old blankets.

Finding a Loving Home

Animal control showed up shortly after, with a van to retrieve the dogs and take them somewhere safe. The mother dog and her puppies were found up for adoption at a nearby animal shelter. We handed them over to the care of the shelter staff. They hoped to give each puppy — and their mother “Mom” a little more time before finding his or her way into an adopted family.

He added the firefighters were relieved to be able to assist the pooches. They were being left alone and in their minds that was best. They prayed that some day, the mother dog and her new born babies would have a forever home to go too where they could be loved and nurtured.
