How an Angry Stray Cat Reacts When I Find Her Newborn Kittens

Coming across stray cats and kittens could be a surprise. Many times these mother cats are not ready to trust humans due to their unknown past. I found this out the hard way after finding a feral cat and her litter of new born kittens.

The Unexpected Encounter

One afternoon, while wandering my neighborhood in a sunny day. I saw a little hut in the yard. Ac I came closer, the meows became softer and further. Walking towards it, I followed the noise to a mother cat and her three kittens. Cuddled so closely they were almost suffocating against one another in the heat.

When she took her eyes from the bag and looked at me, I came around to have a closer look. She got up and leapt over around her kittens. Her hair is visible on the end (snake) I could feel the anger in her voice, I knew she was frightened for he babys. I backed off to make a place for yourself.

The Mother Cat’s Reaction

The mama cat let out a loud growl, telling me in no uncertain terms to keep my distance. She turned on her side to where she was now facing me, a fierce look in her eyes. I could tell shed so protect her own little ones from every one. It was obvious that she didn’t believe in me. She probably felt threatened by that, I thought. While I tried to be of help, this is obviously something with which I have to proceed carefully.

She checked on her kittens. I stayed clear watching from a safe distance They were still too newseye’d to open. They were defenseless and needed her for safety & sustenance. Although she was terrified of me, I admired how protectively and bravely she stood in front of them.

Leaving Them Alone

So, I decided to let the furry family alone as they were. I backhanded adstaff while watching their faces. I didn’t know I was making the mother cat any angrier. Happily, It seemed to worked in a few days afterwards I wanted her be relaxed and care for kittens. It was better I kept out of it for their safety.

This encounter with a stray cat taught me many things. And even if they seem mad, that is pretty much just a momma bear protecting her cubs. Love is an unconditional love of a mother cat that needs to be acknowledged and respected, their space..
